Laser Prototypes Expansion

Laser Prototypes becomes the first company in the UK to install an EOS Rapid Prototyping machine. Expansion of Vacuum Casting facilities and installation of full spray paint booth.

2000
Low volume production capabilities

Low Volume Production capabilities increased with addition of Reaction Injection Moulding to service range. CNC Machining capabilities also added.

2003
SLS added to service offering

SLS added to service range, providing Laser Prototypes customers access to tough, nylon parts.

2007
Expansion of SLA Services

Further SLA expansion at Laser Prototypes with the installation of High Resolution Viper Machine and addition of new SLA materials.

Expansion of SLS Services

Installation of EOS P390 expands SLS capabilities at Laser Prototypes.

Laser Prototypes Commits to Quality

Laser Prototypes becomes ISO 9001 and ISO 13485 approved reflecting commitment to quality.

Laser Prototypes rebrands

Laser Prototypes (Europe) Ltd undergoes brand overhaul becoming LPE.

2013
LPE moves premises

LPE relocates to custom fit 25,000 sq ft premises to allow for further expansion. Fully controlled spray booth installed to better meet customers finishing & painting requirements.

2015
Introduction of metal sintering services

LPE introduces the Concept Laser Mlab, building parts in stainless steel and aluminium. We become the first bureau in the UK and Ireland to offer high resolution metal sintering builds with a layer thickness of .025mm.

2016
LPE Turns 25

LPE celebrates 25 years in business. New Faro Arm installed in the CNC department to facilitate accurate production of first article inspection and certificate of conformance reports.

2017
Expansion of metal sintering services

Metal sintering capabilities at LPE continue to expand with the installation of the EOS M290, Sodick AQ537L EDM machine and Nabotherm LH216/12 gas controlled heat treatment furnace. In addition to this titanium added to metal sintering materials range.

2018
Qualification of metal parts for Aerospace

LPE completes two year R&D project with aerospace industry partners allowing us to now offer qualification documentation for metal parts for aerospace.

2019
Introduction of DLP Services and expansion of post processing metal capabilities

LPE installs the Figure 4 machine allowing us to produce parts using digital light processing (DLP) technology. Sodick VL600QH EDM machine and Instron 3382 Tensile machine installed to further expand and develop our metal sintering post processing capabilities.

2021
LPE celebrates 30 years in business with trilogy of new RP machines

30 years on from its inception, LPE makes a £500,000 investment in three new machines – the Neo 450s, EOS P396 and an additional Figure 4 DLP printer.

2022
LPE introduces post processing dying services

LPE installs Dye Mansion machine and can now offer SLS dyed parts in multiple colours.
