LPE shortlisted for 2018 TCT Award

LPE are excited to announce that we have been shortlisted for the TCT 2018 Awards in the Creative Application Award Category. The TCT awards will be held on the evening of the second day of the TCT show. The TCT show is one of the world’s leading design-to-manufacturing events and its awards are designed to celebrate the innovators, technologies and collaborators behind the leading examples of additive manufacturing, 3D printing, design and engineering across the globe. LPE help local students take flight!

LPE were delighted to have been able to help local Stage 3 MEng Aerospace Engineering students at Queen’s University Belfast (QUB) with their entry into the British Model Flying Association’s Payload Challenge which is due to take place at the start of June 2018. The goal of the competition is to carry a payload of polystyrene balls around a circuit, land, refill, and then launch again, completing as many laps with as many balls as possible in a six minute time slot. LPE ensures Dippy the Diplodocus keeps it head!

LPE is excited to announce that we have recently been involved in a project with the National History Museum, which involved creating replica heads of the Museum’s much loved Diplodocus (nicknamed Dippy). Last year the head of the Diplodocus skeleton was scanned by the museum. This scan was able to capture, down to the very smallest details, the exact size and shape of the head. The data from this scan was then used by LPE to produce eight replica heads of the iconic dinosaur using our sterolithography process. Local engineering students visit LPE

As one of the UK’s leading Additive Manufacturing Companies, LPE is dedicated to demonstrating to future generations of engineers the endless possibilities that the latest additive manufacturing technologies present. LPE COMMITS TO VITAL ADDITIVE MANUFACTURING RESEARCH

Laser Prototypes Europe (LPE) has recently committed to assisting the ‘North West Centre for Advanced Manufacturing’ research programme. Expansion of metal sintering capabilities at LPE -Titanium now available

LPE is continuing to expand its metal sintering services with the recent installation of an EOS M290 metal sintering machine and the addition of another metal sintering material. LPE has been offering high resolution aluminium and stainless steel parts on its MLab Laser Cusing System for a while but with this latest purchase we are now able to offer our customers parts built in titanium on our new EOS M290 machine.
